Brace Law is located both in Vaughan and Oakville. It provides legal services across the GTA in criminal law, immigration law, civil litigation, family law, and education.
The Vaughan office is conveniently located off Highway 7 and Weston Road and it is only a few minutes away from Highway 400 as well as the Vaughan Metropolitan
Centre station. The Oakville office is suitably located near the heart of Oakville.

Ljusi Brace (Lusi) is the founder of Brace Law located in Vaughan and Oakville. She received her LLB from Queen Mary University of London, in United Kingdom. She practices in all areas of Criminal Law, Canadian Immigration, Family Law, Real Estate Law, Civil Litigation, Wills & POAs. She has litigated in Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice and Federal Court of Canada.

Ms. Brace is a member in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada. She is also a member of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association, Toronto Lawyers Association and co-founder and Director of Communications of Albanian Canadian Lawyers Association.

Prior to establishing Brace Law, she worked alongside senior counsels in downtown Toronto, as well as practiced and operated throughout the Greater Toronto Area.  She is a firm believer in the importance of access to justice and its significance for people who are unable to have their voice heard, exercise their human rights, challenge racism and discrimination or hold decision makers accountable.  She is on the Ontario Legal Aid panel for Criminal Law.  Ms. Brace understands and appreciates the importance of accessing legal aid, ensuring justice is served while maintaining the public’s trust in the Canadian justice system.

Fancy Ren

Licensed Paralegal and notary public

Fancy is a Licensed Paralegal in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.  At Brace Law, Fancy assists clients with a wide range of Canadian immigration matters, including Express Entry Programs, Temporary Foreign Workers, Labour Market Impact Assessments, Provincial Nominee Programs, Students and Visitors, Family Sponsorships, Temporary Resident Permits, among others.

Prior to joining Brace Law, Fancy worked in both small and mid-sized reputable law firms in the GTA where she assisted and communicated with clients ranging from top insurance companies to established real estate developers to individuals and start-up companies.  

Fancy is exceptionally client service oriented and understands that immigration can be a lengthy and sometimes emotional process that involves discussing very personal information with the client; however, it is Fancy’s compassion, patience, confidence, and professionalism that allow her to make clients feel at ease.

The combination of Fancy’s professional knowledge, experience and technical skills helps our clients navigate through the complexities of Canadian immigration programs and requirements in order to achieve their goals.

Before obtaining her Paralegal Graduate Certificate from Centennial College, Fancy received her Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto in Health Policy and Evolutionary Anthropology.  Fancy is fluent in Mandarin.

Kevi Velcani is an articling student at Brace Law.  She completed her NCA exams and is in the process of qualifying for the Ontario bar.

Kevi obtained her LL.B from the University of Kent in 2018. At law school, Kevi was involved with the award winning Law Clinic where she provided various legal services, helped manage client files and resolved case enquiries. In addition, she was a research intern at the Law Training Centre and heavily involved in the Canadian Law Society, the Immigration and Asylum Team and Student Chair of the Law Clinic.

Kevi has always had a strong interest in criminal justice and was a member of the Criminal Justice Team that advocated for a change in the Joint Enterprise law in the UK House of Commons. She is a strong advocate for the right to a fair trial and for a client’s liberties and constitutional rights to be upheld. Kevi has a passion for truth and justice and understands the importance helping clients access legal aid.

She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and completed her Masters in International Criminal Justice with Human Rights from the University of Kent.

Ingrid is a legal assistant at Brace Law and the newest member of the Brace Law team. She is currently in the process of completing the paralegal licensing examination and receiving her P1 License in February 2021. Prior to working at Brace Law, Ingrid has worked with other paralegals in conducting legal research, assembling case material and drafting correspondence. Ingrid now works alongside Fancy and assists with real estate and immigration matters.

Before obtaining her Paralegal Graduate Certificate from Seneca College, Ingrid also received her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of Western Ontario. Ingrid has a passion for criminal justice and the study of systems of regulation. She feels strongly about advocating for those who have experienced injustice by the legal system and has volunteered with Innocence Canada in the promotion of Wrongful Conviction Day at Western University. She hopes to utilize her knowledge of the criminal justice system and apply it to other areas of law such as small claims, real estate and immigration.

Sarai Chavez

Licensed Paralegal and Notary Public

Sarai Chavez is a licensed paralegal who graduated from Everest College in 2008 with honours. In over 10+ years of professional experience working in Quebec and Ontario, Sarai has accumulated a large expertise in customer and advisory services.

Her diversified career path has taken her to collaborate with lawyers and investment professionals in order to provide solutions to a variety of corporate and private clients. She has always been driven by her values such as: innovation and excellence, helping those less fortunate, honesty, diligence, detail oriented.

Sarai takes great pride in helping others while providing guidance and professional counsel.  At Brace Law, Sarai focuses on family, landlord and tenant, and immigration matters. She is fluent in English, French and Spanish. Sarai develops a customized approach to every client and situation.

When not at work, Sarai is socially involved in various charities in her community and enjoys nature, crafting and her family.

Sarah is a legal assistant who recently graduated from Paralegal Accelerated Diploma Program at Seneca College with High Honours. She is currently in the process of completing the paralegal licensing examination and expected to receive her P1 License in Summer 2021.

Prior to joining Brace Law, Sarah has completed her placement in a paralegal firm specializing in motor vehicle offence and criminal law. She assisted other paralegals conducting legal research, reviewing the disclosures of the cases, and updating the clients’ files.

Before tailoring her career path to the legal profession, Sarah has worked over eight years in various global luxury hotels, where she developed her exceptional customer service and leadership skills.

Sarah has always been interested in advocating for those immigrants whose voice are often unheard and protecting their rights. She hopes to bring her paralegal education and professional experience to Brace Law, combined with her passion for the access to the justice for the people.

When not at work, Sarah is actively involved in her church and volunteers as a program coordinator of the Youth Ministry. Sarah is fluent in Korean.
